Whyalla residents are reminded they’re entitled to one free hard waste pick-up each year, but it must be booked in.
A recent audit found that many locals were unaware of the process.
Fifty properties were recently observed with hard waste on their verge, and only two had booked a pick-up.

Whyalla City Council utilises Bedford to undertake the hard waste service.
Residents can call them on 8647 7711 to lock in a date, then put their waste out the night before the confirmed pick-up.
