A woman has been arrested after a dramatic police pursuit in Port Pirie last night.
Police received multiple calls about a white Holden sedan driving erratically around town just after 6pm yesterday.
The car had been reported as stolen earlier that day.
Port Pirie Police located the vehicle on Anzac Road at Risdon Park, however the vehicle failed to stop.
Police engaged in a brief pursuit, but were forced to terminate the pursuit after a police car sustained minor damage.
A short time later, police located the vehicle driving into a local school carpark on Wandearah Road.
An officer managed to grab the car keys from the open car window, however he was dragged along by the car before it stopped.
The officer was taken to the local hospital with minor injuries.
The driver, a 40-year-old woman from Solomontown, was arrested and charged with drive unlicensed, illegal interference, speed dangerous, drive without due care, drive dangerously to avoid police pursuit, endanger life, property damage, fail to provide particulars at a crash, and refuse blood test.
It is alleged she was driving under the influence.
She was refused bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court today.
