The police stations in Port Pirie and Port Augusta will no longer be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
They’re among 14 stations across SA being affected by new standardised hours from the 23rd of December onwards.
The new hours will be 9am to 5pm on weekdays, and 9am to 3:30pm on weekends.
Whyalla police station will also be affected by the change and will reduce their hours on weekends.
SAPOL state operations service Assistant Commissioner Ian Parrott told ABC News that the changes would allow regional police officers to return to frontline services.
Kadina police station has not been affected as the station already has fewer service hours, with no office support on weekends for community members.
