A man has been arrested and charged after a police pursuit in the region.
At around 10.30am on Monday (October 16), police received reports of a Mitsubishi Pajero driving erratically on the Augusta Highway at Mambray Creek.
Officers saw the car a short time later on Victoria Parade and attempted to stop it but the driver refused to pull over.
The chase was stopped due to safety reasons a short time later.
The vehicle was then reported speeding towards Pimba, where officers weren’t able to find the driver.
After midday on Tuesday, police located and arrested the 23-year-old on the Stuart Highway at Coondambo.
He’s been charged with engaging in a police pursuit, 3 counts of theft (fuel) and carrying an offensive weapon.
The vehicle is yet to be located.
