A teenager has lost their licence for three months and copped a fine of almost $2000 after being caught drink driving on Friday, 26 January.
The 18-year-old learner driver was stopped in Burra around 4:15pm, and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.059.
The Burra woman also didn’t have a qualified supervising driver with her at the time, and allegedly returned a positive result for cannabis.
She may face further charges for drug driving, pending results of a forensic analysis.
A Mid North man has lost his licence for six months after being reported for drink and drug driving on Saturday, 27 January.
Police stopped a Mazda sedan in Spalding just after 4:30pm and submitted the driver to a roadside alcohol and drug test, where the man allegedly blew 0.116 and tested positive to cannabis.
The 53-year-old will appear in court at a later date.
A Far North woman is set to face court after she was reported for drink driving in Coober Pedy on Sunday, 28 January.
She was breath tested on Seventeen Mile Road just after 6am, and allegedly returned a positive reading.
The 33-year-old was asked to attend the Coober Pedy Police Station for further tests, but failed to comply.
She has been reported for failing to comply with a breath analysis test and failing to display her L-plates.
A man has been charged with theft and aggravated assault in Whyalla.
Just before midday on Monday, 29 January, police attended a supermarket on Slim Avenue after reports a man had stolen a handbag from a woman placing her groceries in her car.
A 61-year-old man attempted to step in, but was assaulted in the process, suffering minor injuries.
Following an investigation, a 21-year-old local man was arrested and the victim’s handbag was returned to her.
The man faced court on Tuesday, 30 January.
A learner motorcyclist will face court after being caught riding recklessly through a school zone on Monday, 29 January.
Around 3pm, police conducting Return to School operations were travelling through Port Augusta West when a motorcycle was spotted going 60 km/h while doing a wheelie.
The 18-year-old rider was reported for driving in a reckless or dangerous manner and failing to display L-plates.
He’s lost his licence and had his bike impounded.
A Port Augusta teenager is among two boys arrested in Port Lincoln on Tuesday, 30 January, after breaking into a business.
It’s alleged just after 12:40am, police were called to a business on Edinburgh Street when an alarm went off.
A 14-year-old Port Lincoln boy and 13-year-old Port Augusta West boy were charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and unlawful possession.
They’ve been bailed to appear in the Port Lincoln Youth Court on 18 March.
A 60-year-old man is facing the consequences after driving unregistered and uninsured in Farrell Flat on Tuesday, 30 January.
Spalding police pulled the man over just past 12pm and discovered his driver’s licence was disqualified as well.
He was reported for driving unregistered, uninsured and disqualified.
His car was clamped for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
A Port Augusta West man has lost his licence for 12 months after being caught drink driving on Wednesday, 31 January.
Police allegedly stopped the man on Caroona Road around 4:35pm and submitted him to a breath test.
The 60-year-old blew over four times the legal limit, returning a positive reading of 0.221.
He’s been reported for drink driving and will appear in court at a later date.
