Police are reminding farmers to be vigilant with the security of their farming equipment following a diesel theft last week.
Thieves struck during the night on Wednesday, 15 May, and siphoned diesel from equipment parked in cropping land along Thiepvale Road at Yorke Valley.
Police have the following advice for farmers to prevent being impacted by theft:

- Ensure fences, gates and other machinery are locked with good quality locks.
- Use lockable fuel caps to prevent theft or contamination of fuel.
- Lock fuel dispensing systems including the pump, outlets, nozzle, hose and valves when not in use.
- Display warning signs on perimeter fence lines and gates to clearly indicate the boundaries of your property.
