The Flinders Ranges has been dubbed a must-see in 2024 by travel magazine, Explore Travel.
The magazine praised the national park as the “ultimate accessible outback” travel spot.
The international recognition follows a stand-out year for the region in 2023, with Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison saying visitors to the area pumped millions into the state economy.
“We know that it’s an incredible draw for international tourists wanting to see the real Australian outback, Minister Bettison says.
“That twelve months to June 2023 [put] $690-million into the economy at the Flinders Ranges and outback.”
She says the recognition reminds us how unique our backyard is.
“Particularly the Nilpena Ediacara National Park – it’s home to the world’s most comprehensive records of Ediacaran fossils.”
