Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis’ trial is in its final stages, with a verdict set to be delivered on 1 July.
The case has been ongoing since 2021, when the Minister was charged with 23 counts of deception for the alleged misuse of the Country Members Accommodation Allowance.
It has been alleged in court that 78 false claims were deliberately made totalling $18,000.

Lawyer Scott Henchcliffe told the judge last week the claims were an honest mistake, and argued there are flaws in the system.
