Light plane crash kills young pilot

A 22-year-old man has died after a plane crash in the Far North yesterday morning, 27 June.

Adam Snell was flying the plane used for mustering sheep at a cattle station south-west of Coober Pedy when it crashed.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the cause of the accident and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

This is one of two plane crashes in the area, the other occurring north of Coober Pedy yesterday afternoon.

The 42-year-old solo male pilot was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
