A man and his puppy spent roughly four hours stuck in a mine shaft on the Yorke Peninsula yesterday, 5 May.
They became stuck when the man tried to rescue the pup after it slid 5-8 metres underground.

CFS, SES and SAAS were called to ‘Hughes Engine House’ on Shepherdson Road just before 4pm, and STAR Group officers arrived from Adelaide to bring the man and his dog to the surface just before 8pm.
The man was taken to hospital as a precaution, and Police thank everyone involved in the rescue.
