Port Augusta Police targeted anti-social behaviour, criminal offending and dangerous driving during the ‘Day of Action’ initiative last Thursday.
The Day of Action was supported by additional South Australia Police (SAPOL) resources, including Dog Operations Unit, STAR Operations, Licensing Enforcement Branch, State Operations Support Branch, Traffic Services Branch, including police motorcycles, and neighbouring police from Yorke Mid North Local Service Area.

- Three arrests, including a Port Augusta man being charged with Trafficking a Controlled Drug and Cultivate Cannabis for Sale.
- Recovery of stolen property, including a KTM motorcycle which was stolen from Adelaide in January 2023, and a wallet stolen in a break-in that occurred in Port Augusta in October 2024.
- Conducting 34 checks to ensure compliance with bail conditions for those people on curfews to remain home at night.
- One Port Augusta licensed premises was identified as breaching its liquor licence conditions.
- Conducting 210 driver screening tests for alcohol and 66 for drugs.
The operation complements the Declared Public Precinct that’s currently in place to improve public safety in the city.
