The Gladstone Gaol opened its doors for the first time in nearly three years on Sunday 16 March, as it makes an official bid to become a tourist attraction.
More than 1,300 people turned out for the open day, which included free entry and a guided tour around the precinct.
Locals are now calling for the site to reopen permanently, after it closed to the public in June 2022.

Environment and Water Minister Susan Close confirmed the State Government is planning to meet with stakeholders in the coming weeks to discuss its options.
